Godiva Chocolate Truffle Stores Growing

by Sylvia Cochran

Godiva chocolate truffle stores, premier chocolate gift makers (who has not heard of Godiva milk chocolate, dark chocolate and of course Godiva chocolate truffles?) offers chocolates appealing to the luxury minded buyer. Its chocolate recipe is one for international success.

Godiva - founded by Belgian chocolatiers - is expanding into Asia. At a time that business worldwide is floundering, it is surprising that a mere luxury item with a sometimes steep price tag is doing so well.

Yet when listening to Jim Goldman, CEO of Godiva, it appears that in the very luxury lies the appeal. Interviewed by the Daily Yomiuri Online, he explains that affordable luxury is a hot commodity now that the more expensive forms of luxury are going by the wayside.

Goldman makes another - somewhat surprising - revelatory statement: when previously owned by Campbell Soup, the company was more or less a small cog in the large works of a "huge business group." This prevented Godiva chocolate stores from receiving the kind of individualized attention and funding it required to grow by leaps and bounds.
