Godiva Chocolate Truffles: Godiva chocolates new Collections

Godiva Chocolatier is bringing its 'ground breaking' new travel retail exclusive Gems and Tablets (multi-packs) Collections to the Duty Free Show of the Americas next month, where it is focusing on building its business in The Americas and Caribbean.

The company adds that future focus will also include developing shop-in-shop locations, personalized space and fixtures to support the continued growth of the Godiva brand as a whole.

At this year's show Godiva will be presenting its Gems Collection which is aimed at travellers looking for a gift for friends and colleagues. Exclusive to travel retail, the collection features three varieties: Gems Truffles, Gems Caramels and Gems Thins, each available in rich milk or dark chocolate.

The presentation consists of brightly coloured jewel tone boxes, featuring an original 'click-click' lid. Once released, the chocolates empty into the cavity of the lid for sharing among family and friends. Godiva says the Gems Collection is made with the 'finest cocoa' and helps to broaden the availability and accessibility of Godiva's high quality chocolate, which it describes as 'a real and exciting leap forward for the company'.

Godiva Gems will be available from February 2010 in Travel Retail exclusive boxes, containing a single variety of truffles, caramels or thins.

SHARING AND SELF TREAT
Meanwhile, Godiva Chocolate Tablets are aimed at sharing and self consumption with a selection of four tablets, each with a high cocoa content. These include: Sweet seduction Milk Chocolate, which is described as a creamy smooth milk chocolate made with 31% cocoa, accented with hints of caramel; a dark chocolate symphony 72% Dark Chocolate; Opposites attract 72% Dark Chocolate with Almonds; and embark on a dark experience 85% Extra Dark Santo Domingo. The latter is the darkest dark chocolate in the range made with cocoa beans originating from the Caribbean island of Santo Domingo.

The Tablets are available from February 2010 for individual purchase, or exclusively in travel retail in multi-packs. Godiva Chocolatier can be found on stand number 733 at the IAADFS show.

Godiva Chocolate Truffles: Belgian Sky Shops

Brussels airport duty-free operator Belgian Sky Shops (BSS) has welcomed the success of a joint promotion with confectionery supplier Godiva for the launch of the limited-edition Truffles Dessert collection in March. The event took place in both terminals at the airport throughout the launch month and included a high-visibility stage in terminal B, mock truffle footsteps across terminals A and B, and large window displays in the retailer’s shops.

Full-time sales promoters were also employed to offer customers samples of the new products and supportive advertising ran on the cover of the airport’s Skydeals duty-free magazine and on departure/gate screens in both terminals.

BSS purchasing manager Hans Darmont said: “The theatre dedicated to the launch of Godiva’s Truffles Dessert line at Belgian Sky Shops was original and highly innovative. This terrific installation was a perfect fit to explain the concept and caught the attention of any passers-by. A result of an excellent cooperation between the teams at Godiva and Belgian Sky Shops made the launch of this delicious product a tremendous success.”

Godiva travel-retail manager North Europe Bettina Van Buynder added: “Together BSS and Godiva have implemented a highly creative promotional concept at the airport. Travellers were enticed by the luxurious and relaxing ‘home setting’ within a hectic airport environment. This unusual approach helped us to draw attention to the launch of our limited-edition Truffles Dessert collection. Sales results also met our ambitious objectives, greatly assisted by the BSS staff, who were valuable ambassadors of this collection to shoppers.”

Godiva Chocolate Truffles: Reinvented Truffle

Traditionally, truffles have a soft centre of ganache, butter cream or mousse. Godiva’s reinvented Truffle Collection includes six original centres: apricot, cashew, coconut, pear, raspberry and strawberry.

We drew our inspiration from the fashion world and its ability to have all aspects, from texture to colour, existing in wonderful harmony."

Available from January 2006, the Truffle Collection will be presented in a burgundy box in a ten-piece cornet; a nine-piece alcohol-free; a 16-piece box; or a 24-piece ballotin.
